Utah Web Design

Buyer Beware - Heritage Web Design

It has come to our attention that there is a scam artist company operating in Utah. If you are thinking about doing business with Heritage Web Design now called HIT (Heritage Internet Technologies) you might want to reconsider!

What they offer:
On their site they offer you a site for $199. Sounds good, huh? What they will do is quickly nickel and dime you so that you site is from $700 - $1000. Which in itself is still a pretty good deal. But what they hit you with is the fine print.

Their business plan revolves around making money, not keeping you happy. Each "account manager" has to bring in at least $500 a day to the company. Then the company will sub contract your work out to some web designer that may or may not know what they are doing. From reports I've read, those designers are required to complete your site in under 30 minutes. They will then use inside tactics to stall your website to over 100 days. Which by the contract is over the time period allowed for a refund. Also, within the fine print is that if HIT does anything at all on your site you can only get 50% back, if they complete your site - even if it is not what you want, they keep 100%!

To make it worse, inside that contract is a clause. It is just to good to paraphrase here it is from the actual Terms of Services from HIT:

"46. Negative Comments/Slander
Client specifically agrees not to engage in negative comments or slander regarding HIT, including but not limited to publishing, or causing to be published, complaints or derogatory comments regarding HIT in any format, including but not limited to, print, newspaper, television, radio or on internet complaint sites, blogs or other public internet forums. Should there be a breach of this condition HIT will be entitled to liquidated damages in the amount of $2,500.00 for each publishing or posting. If said breach occurs on an internet complaint site each hit to that website will be considered an individual breach of this condition, and subject to additional liquidated damages of $100 per occurrence. Further, HIT shall be entitled to litigate this matter, and obtain the money damages together with injunctive relief. HIT reserves the right to terminate any account for any negative postings made by the account owner or its representatives, or employees."
